The Ledvice coal-fired power plant in the Czech Republic is being uprated, with high-performance Doka SK175 cooling tower formwork playing a key role. The one-day cycle enables speedy and efficient progress on the build. The Czech power utility CEZ has earmarked large sums for investment in the expansion and upgrading of its power-plant sites. Right now a new unit is being added to the existing lignite-fired plant in Ledvice, and is scheduled to start feeding power into the grid by 2013. Lead contractor Reko Praha a.s. is relying on the high-performance Doka SK175 cooling tower formwork for construction of the new unit’s 145 -metre cooling tower. The definitive benefits were primarily the one-day cycle per concreting section achievable with this system, the perfectly dovetailed workflows in terms of manpower and compliance with schedule, and the in-depth project planning and comprehensive on-site support. In all, there are 100 units of the fully mechanised Doka SK175 cooling tower formwork on site for this project. |
